Grape Update 19/06/2026
Our grapevines are getting on well with the sunny weather that we have been experiencing in late May to June.

The vines have been benefitting from the sunshine which has helped to progress them into the flowering stage by 19th June.

Flowering is followed by the next stage of growth which is berry formation. Whereby small hard green berries are formed which over the summer months will expand to the grape bunches seen around late August to September.

In late May, these inflorescences could be seen across the whole vineyard. This helps to provide us with an idea of how many grape bunches are expected to be formed on each vine.
Did you know, every grape variety starts off with green grapes. It is not until late summer (August-September) where red varieties will go through Veraison, this is when the grapes will change from green to purple.
The vineyard team have also found a small nest of Greenfinch eggs that are hidden amongst the vines.

It is brilliant to see that the vineyard is providing nature with a home. We will now ensure that this area is left relatively undisturbed whilst the nest is occupied.
