Wine Challenge Results 2026
We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news from the Wines of Great Britain Midlands & North Wine Challenge 2026… and we're still pinching ourselves!

Laurel Vines has brought home some amazing awards:

Best Estate, Grower & Bottled Sparkling Wine of the Year 2026 for our 2017 English Sparkling Wine.

Wine Personality of the Year 2026 awarded to our owner & head winemaker Ian Sargent.

A wonderful recognition for 16 years of dedication, passion and hard work in building Laurel Vines from the ground up with his wife Ann.
Alongside his dedication to placing the North of England on world wine making maps. His role of chair of chairs for Wines of Great Britain has also enabled him to actively lobby parliament over the duty paid by British wine producers

All of the wines we submitted into the competition won medals. This is a great achievement for our vineyard, in it's 16 years since we first planted 2,000 vines at Laurel Vines.

Silver Medal Winners
• Solaris 2025
• Madeleine Angevine 2025

These awards mean so much to us. What started as a family dream in 2010 has grown into a vineyard producing award-winning Yorkshire wines, and none of it would be possible without our fantastic team and every single customer & volunteer who has supported us along the way.

To receive recognition from Wines of Great Britain amongst vineyards across the Midlands and North is something we're incredibly proud of.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Here's to celebrating with a glass of Yorkshire wine!
